Who We Are:

We are a non-profit organization located in the Westport area of Kansas City, MO, serving the needs of the homeless and impoverished community. H.A.R.T. Ministries (Healing And Restoring Together) takes its name and mission from Isaiah 35:

“Strengthen ye the weak hands, and confirm the feeble knees. Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompense; he will come and save you. Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped. Then shall the lame man leap as a hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing: for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert.”

We are seeking to bring a holistic approach to healing, by focusing on the body, mind, spirit, emotions, and relationships of each individual who enters our facility. Our vision is to create a safe and accepting community for all to find this kind of healing.

Our ministry began through a church plant called The Place, which began in 2003, located at 43rd & Walnut in Kansas City, MO. Our move to 3930 Broadway, caused a transition in the focus of our ministry, and out of this H.A.R.T. Ministries was born in 2007. Many of the main components of what we do have not changed though, we are still focused on bringing healing to the marginalized and oppressed and feeding those who are hungry both spiritually and physically. From there we have expanded to include the Community Resources Center with a part-time Community Resources Specialist, a Prayer Room, and the Clothing & Hygiene Distribution Center.
